Texas Lottery
The Texas Lottery is made up of a selection of games that include Lotto Texas, Texas Two Step, Pick 3, Daily 4, Cash Five and a selection of Scratch Off games. Prior to 1997 all Texas Lottery procees were allocated to the General Revenue fund but this changed in 1997 so that any revenue generated by the games offered by the Texas Lottery were allocated to the Foundation School Fund. Of all the revenue generated by ticket sales for the Texas Lottery 62% is paid to prize winners, 27% to the Foundation School Fund, 2% to other state programs (this includes unclaimed prizes), 5% is attributed to Lottery Administration with the remainder paid to Lottery Retailers as Commission.

Buying Texas Lottery Tickets
The most popular Texas Lottery game is Lotto Texas which first went on sale in November 2009. This game has a 6/54 matrix which means players have to choose six numbers between 1 and 54. In order to win the jackpot all six main numbers must be matched but there are three other prize tiers in this Texas Lottery game. Players can also win prizes for matching 5, 4 and 3 numbers with only the last prize tier offering a guaranteed pay out of $3. The minimum jackpot amount for the Lotto Texas game is $4 million.

Other Texas Lottery Games
Powerball
The Texas Lottery joined other states for Powerball in January 2010 after it was agreed that state lotteries could sell both Mega Millions and Powerball tickets. The draws for Powerball take place every Wednesday and Friday with players having to choose five main numbers from the range 1 to 59 and a Powerball from the numbers 1 to 39. There is also an option to participate in an additional multiplier game, Power Play.
Megamillions
The Texas Lottery has produced a number of MegaMillions winners since it started selling tickets for the game in 2003. Players are required to pick five main numbers between 1 and 56 and a Mega Ball number between 1 and 46. There is an option to multiple lower prize tier winnings by pariticpating in the Megaplier that works in a similar way to the Powerballs' Power Play option. Draws take place every Tuesday and Friday.
Texas Two Step
Texas Two Step was introduced by the Texas Lottery in May 2011 and boasts a minimum jackpot amount of $200,000. Players are required to choose four main numbers from 1 to 35 and a bonus ball from 1 to 35. There are seven different prize tiers for the Texas Two Step and draws take place on Mondays and Thursdays.
Pick 3
Pick 3 was introduced by the Texas Lottery in October 1993 and there are twice daily draws for this game. To participate players have to choose three digits from 0-9 and then have numerous options of play available. Prizes for Pick 3 vary depending on the options chosen for play.
Daily 4
The Daily 4 game from the Texas Lottery is played twice a day from Monday to Saturday with players required to pick four single digit numbers from 0 to 9. Like Pick 3 there are a number of option to play with prizes varying dependent on the combination used for play.
Cash 5
Cash 5 plays every day from Monday through until Saturday with players required to choose 5 numbers from a field of 37. There are 5 prize tier levels in this game from the Texas Lottery.

Texas Lottery Rolls Again
The Texas Lottery has rolled again as its last draw on Saturday 24th September failed to secure a jackpot winner. The next draw will take place this evening and it has an estimated jackpot of $9 million. This is the fifth time in a row that the Texas Lottery has rolled over. The last player to win the jackpot was at the beginning of the month when six numbers were matched correctly to win the jackpot prize of $25 million.

Texas Lottery waits for winner
A winning lottery ticket worth more than $4.1 that was purchased this week has not yet been claimed. The Texas Lottery waits for the winner to come forward but fear that it may be a visitor to the state as the winning ticket was purchased at La Tienita, a retail outlet at a bus terminal. Although the bus terminal sees six local routes begin and end there the Texas Lottery now fear that the ticket may belong to a visitor due to the fact that other routes include North Mexico and central Texas.
