“Money won’t change me,” says Canadian lottery winner
A Canadian man who won $3.2million on the country’s 6/49 lottery game has vowed the huge cash windfall won’t change him. Jon Scholten, 72, of Pitt Meadows, was driving to his daughter’s house for the holiday period when he stopped for petrol and decided to buy lotto tickets for the Christmas Day Canada lottery draw. But it was only on Boxing Day when he decided to check his numbers and found he’d scooped the jackpot, according to a report by The Vancouver Sun.

Mr Scholten’s family had to wait a little longer to hear about the lottery win however, after he decided to hide his ticket under a rug for three days while he got over the shock.
“I think I just needed some time to let it sink in,” he explained.
“It won't change me. I already have everything I need. I have a good wife, a nice home and a good life, so I will simply enjoy sharing this money with my family.”
