$12.2m Oregon Lottery win
Bill Kinkade, who was on a fishing and camping vacation in Gold Beach with his wife, bought a $5 winning Megabucks. The ticket scooped a massive $12.2m Oregon Lottery win for the 68 year old. Kinkade, who lives in McDermitt, Nevada, near the Oregon Border, did not use the quick pick option for his lottery number choices, but picked them himself.

He has chosen to take a one time cash payment on his fatastic win, which amounts to about half of the overall pot, approximately $6.1m before deducting state and federal taxes. He is the 222nd person to win a minimum of $1m in a Megabucks draw and 268 people to date have won at least $1m on all Oregon Lottery games.
As a fishing fanatic, Kinkade plans to use his massive Oregon Lottery win to fund more travelling and fishing trips, which is incidently what he was doing when he bought his winning ticket at Crows Nest in Gold Beach. He also may even use some of the money to buy a boat.
Of the 10 set of numbers that Kinkade chose for the Oregon Lottery, the second set 3, 12, 16, 17, 27, 31 were the winning ones. This almost certainly makes his $5 ticket the most lucrative investment he is ever likely to make.
A spokesman for the Oregon Lottery says that this is Kinkades first major win and both he and his wife are very shocked, but that that are very nice people and deserved winners. Another inspirational story and a great reason to buy lottery tickets for any of the state lotteries.
