In Friday’s Lotto Max draw there was a jackpot of CAD $50 million available to win, and we all know that when this Canadian lottery hits it maximum top prize of CAD $50 million, the additional game of MaxMillions starts up. In Friday’s draw (27th January 2012) there were two MaxMillions draws that took place and both of these extra draws had winners. Last night the Mega Millions had its first draw of the week and there was a $71 million jackpot available to win. The results from this Tuesday night draw reveal that one winning ticket matched all five of the main numbers along with the Mega Ball to take home the Mega Millions jackpot. The owner (or owners if it is a syndicate) identity is yet to be revealed, however the desired winning ticket was bought in the participating state of Georgia.

The Powerball organisers, the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) announced last year that it was going to make some adjustments to its game and many rumors circulated as to what these would be. However, now (as of the 15th January 2012) changes have been made to the Powerball game, and will play out for the first time in tonight’s draw. On the 23rd December 2011 the Lotto Max reached its jackpot limit meaning that there was a $50 million top prize available to win. However, no one won it so it rolled to the following draw where one winning ticket matched the Lotto Max results to win the $50 million jackpot on the 30th December 2011. The holders of this ticket were a couple from Ontario named as JoAnn and Gaetan Champagne, but it now seems that these Lotto Max jackpot winners will now have to wait for their payout.
